Drawing Out
Task One;

To get to know everyone in the class, we took turns to draw eachother, with a few different techniques such as not looking at the paper, only having 30 seconds or not taking the pen off the paper.
This was was a fun way of getting to know each other and it also loosened me up to start creating art in the studio space, and I enjoyed how care-free this style of drawing was. The changes of colour and size, the differing drawing materials, and the overlapping of separate drawings looks interesting.
Task Two;

For this task, we each had to pick out two words at random. The words I got were 'dislocate' and 'density'. We then has to create a piece based on the words.
My ideas behind this piece were to reflect density by filling up the page, making it hard to look at. To reflect dislocate, I drew bones, and displayed the piece by folding it, mimicking a knee joint and making it 'out of place'.
I found the words I picked out to be quite difficult to generate an idea with. They both seemed quote science-driven and so I had to do some searches on Google images to even conjure up a vague idea of what I was going to create. The outcome, was not my favourite, as I found it too busy and a bit uninspired. That being said, I did like displaying the piece in a non-traditional way.
I used markers and pencils as I wanted to use an array of materials to create a more 'chaotic' feel to the piece. I also used tape to create triangles, which look similar to a warning sign. I think the tape definitely stands out the most, and could have been used for the whole piece to make it relate to the word 'density' more clearly. That being said I think the amount of different colours adds to the chaotic nature of the piece.
